    • Q - Can centres deliver these new qualifications alongside other existing qualifications? 

      A - Yes, training providers can design programmes that include both the new and existing qualifications to provide a robust curriculum that meets the guided learning hour requirements for full-time academic students. 


      Q - Can learners with older qualifications use these as acceptable entry requirements for the new technical qualifications?

      A - Yes, learners existing qualifications can be used to meet the prerequisite requirements as set out in each qualification guidance.


      Q - Can we deliver both Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in one academic year? 

      A - Yes, 2025 learners meet the entry requirements for each qualification, they can pursue a combination of level 2 and level 3 courses within the same academic year. 


      Q - Are these qualifications available to private training providers? 

      A - Yes, Active IQ offers these qualifications in versions suitable for the commercial market, with reduced Guided Learning Hours (GLH) to fit blended learning models. These will also be available from 1 August 2025. 


      Q - Will the digital learning management system (LMS) reduce marking requirements for tutors/assessors? 

      A - Yes, Active IQ’s LMS platform includes interactive assessments that reduce the manual marking load for tutors. Automated assessments are included, though some observed and manually marked assessments will still be required. 


      Q - Can I use my own LMS platform?

      A - No, as Active IQ’s LMS platform includes all the assessments for the qualifications you are unable to use your own platform.


      Q - Will there be mock knowledge assessments?

      A - Yes, one mock knowledge assessment for each knowledge test will be available in the LMS platform.


      Q - Are there UCAS points associated with the Level 3 qualifications? 

      A - Yes, all Level 3 qualifications provide UCAS points, which can be calculated using the UCAS calculator


      Q - How many times can learners attempt the knowledge assessments?

      A - If a learner does not achieve a knowledge assessment, they can re-sit the assessment an unlimited number of times. However, they must wait 36 hours after the original attempt before re-taking the assessment, allowing time for additional learning and feedback.

       

      Q - Do the knowledge assessments have to be scheduled with Active IQ, or can they be taken whenever the learner is ready? 

      A - All knowledge assessments are available on demand and are delivered through Active IQ’s LMS platform. They can be accessed and attempted once the centre determines the learner is ready. After the centre has applied to offer the qualification(s) and has been approved, they will receive the passwords to access the knowledge assessments.

       

      Q - During the knowledge assessments, what level of supervision of learners is required?

      A - All knowledge assessments must be invigilated, as per the Active IQ External Theory Assessment and Invigilation Requirements Policy. Centres will be required to complete and submit an invigilation checklist and report and invigilator declaration form after each assessment.
